Maryland State Fire Prevention Commission
The Maryland State Fire Prevention Commission is in need of a licensed building contractor to serve on the commission. The current representative’s term has concluded and he is not eligible to accept another term. Any licensed contractor interested, size of the company is not relevant, may apply through the Maryland Appointments office.
The commission meets 6 times a year and has direct input on the codes process within the state. Appeals of code citations are reviewed and ruled upon by the commission. The commission is made up of architects/engineers, industry representatives, career and volunteer fire service personnel, members of the general public, and a building contractor. All representatives are appointed by the Governor to 5 year terms.
