The Maryland State Firemen’s Association and the Southern Maryland Firemen’s Association and the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Company, regretfully announce the passing of C. Daniel Davis, MSFA Past President (97-98).
Danny has a long history of service to the MSFA, 2006-2021 member of the Budget Committee, 1998-1999 Ex-Officio Member of the Executive Committee, 1997-1998 President, 1996-1997 First Vice-President, 1995-1996 Second Vice-President, 1998-2021 Convention Support Group, 2000-2021 Vice-Chair Program Book Sub-Committee, 2002-2021 Robert Shimer Administrator of the Year Award Committee, 2002-2003 Vice-Chair Legislative Committee, 2003-2012 Chair Legislative Committee, 2003-2012 Awards Committee Member, 1996-1998 Maryland Director to the National Volunteer Fire Council, 1991-1995 Executive Committee Member, 1990-1991 Executive Committee Chair, 1989-1990 Executive Committee Vice-Chair, 1991-1993 Five Year Planning Committee Member, 1984-1992 Fire Prevention Committee Member, 1990-1991 Budget and Revenue Committee Member, he also was the Chairman of the Maryland State Fire Prevention Committee.
Danny received the following awards: 1984 Silver Spring Award, 1990 Inducted into the Maryland State Firemen’s Association Hall of Fame, 2005 Senator Amoss Legislative Award, 2009 Gladhill-Thompson Award, 2012 Senator Amoss Legislative Award, 2021 Marbery F. Gates Award.
Funeral arrangements will be posted when finalized. Please keep the Davis family and the Hollywood family in your thoughts and prayers.
We have just received the arrangements for Danny’s funeral.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, with Firemen’s prayers recited at 7:00 pm, at the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, 24801 Three Notch Road, Hollywood, Maryland 20636. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10:00 am at St John Francis Regis Catholic Church, 43927 St. Johns Road, Hollywood, Maryland 20636. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Celebration of Life will follow in the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department Main Hall.
