Executive Committee Meeting Flintstone VFC – October 10th and 11th, 2020
All Officers, Committee Chairs and Organizations Representatives:
President Charles “Chuck” Walker has scheduled his first meeting of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association Executive Committee for Saturday and Sunday, October 10th & 11th, 2020. The meeting will be held at the Flintstone Volunteer Fire Company, 21707 Flintstone, MD. The meeting will be called to order promptly at 1030 hours.
For those desiring to stay overnight, arrangements have been made at the Holiday Inn Express, 1076 National Highway, La Vale, MD. A block of rooms is being held for MSFA at a reduced rate. Each individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. For reservations, call 301-729-4800 only. Rooms are $96.00 per night plus tax, using code MD State Fire Association.
A “Welcome Reception” is being planned for Friday Evening, October 9th at the Holiday Inn Express from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Come by and enjoy yourself and have a chance to mingle with all.
President Walker has requested that if you do not fill well, do not attend the meeting. All others attending must practice social distancing and wear face covering. If for some reason you are not comfortable with attending, you can participate in the meeting by Zoom.

Richard Snader, Chairman of the Data System Committee has recommended the all Committee Chairs, State Agencies and Partners that wish to report by Zoom follow this plan: After you have reported then you sign out of the zoom meeting and watch the remainder of the meeting on the youtube channel. The Youtube channel is available at https://www.youtube.com/user/webmastermsfa. If they have not already done so we suggest that they subscribe and allow notifications so that they will get notified when we go live with the meeting. Once we have started broadcasting the meeting, there will be a live window on our youtube channel home page, that they can click on and make if full screen.
The Flintstone Auxiliary advised that a Hot Breakfast will be provided on Saturday and Sunday for a fee. Lunch will also be provided each day by the Auxiliary.
President Walker announced that all gentlemen attending the Sunday, October 10th portion of the meeting, should be dressed appropriately with a Sport Coat and tie. Also do not forget your Black Eye Susan Pin.
Remember – All Committee Chairs, Organizations and Agencies will be reporting. A copy of your written report must also be submitted electronically to the Secretary’s Office at report@msfa.org no later than October 1, 2020. A copy of the Agenda for Committees and EMSOF Partners reporting time has been attached. You are also requested to have fifteen (15) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and should be turned into the Secretary’s Office as soon as possible.
As in the past, any budget request must be submitted to Chairman Stephan Cox at budget@msfa.org.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and you can update your members on the various emergency services issues that are being discussed by your association.
