First meeting of the MSFA Executive Committee October 10th & 11th, 2020
All Officers, Committee Chairs and Organizations Representatives:
President Charles “Chuck” Walker has scheduled his first meeting of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association Executive Committee for Saturday and Sunday, October 10th & 11th, 2020. The meeting will be held at the Flintstone Volunteer Fire Company, 21707 Flintstone, MD. The meeting will be called to order promptly at 1030 hours.
For those desiring to stay overnight, arrangements have been made at the Holiday Inn Express, 1076 National Highway, La Vale, MD. A block of rooms is being held for MSFA at a reduced rate. Each individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. For reservations, call 301-729-4800 only. Rooms are $96.00 per night plus tax, using code MD State Fire Association.
A “Welcome Reception” is being planned for Friday Evening, October 9th at the Holiday Inn Express from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Come by and enjoy yourself and have a chance to mingle with all.
President Walker has requested that if you do not feel well, do not attend the meeting. All others attending must practice social distancing and wear face covering. If for some reason you are not comfortable with attending, provision will be made to Zoom the meeting and possible live stream it. Further details will be forthcoming on this.
President Walker has indicated that between 9:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. there will be an opportunity for all committees to meet with their respective partners.
President Walker announced for those not participating in the meeting on Saturday, October 10th, there will be an opportunity to go shopping. Further details will be announced at the Welcome Reception on Friday night.
The Flintstone Auxiliary advised that a Hot Breakfast will be provided on Saturday and Sunday for a fee. Lunch will also be provided each day by the Auxiliary.
President Walker announced that all gentlemen attending the Sunday, October 10th portion of the meeting, should be dressed appropriately with a Sport Coat and tie. Also do not forget your Black Eye Susan Pin.
Remember – All Committee Chairs, Organizations and Agencies will be reporting. A copy of your written report must also be submitted electronically to the Secretary’s Office at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than October 1, 2020. A copy of the Agenda for Committees and EMSOF Partners reporting time, will be forthcoming. You are also requested to have fifteen (15) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and should be turned into the Secretary’s Office as soon as possible.

Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and you can update your members on the various emergency services issues that are being discussed by your association.
