As your newly elected President, I would like to thank each of you for having the trust and confidence to elect me to this position of leadership. As I stated in Ocean City, Maryland, at our annual Convention and Conference, I am committed to the betterment of our Association and look forward to a very productive year.

For the past three years, our Strategic Planning Committee has been working very diligently to meet the ever-changing needs of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association (MSFA) and I was pleased to see the culmination of their efforts result in our hiring the first full-time contractual Executive Director.

Please Welcome Ms. Kate Tomanelli!!!

Kate Tomanelli comes to the MSFA with a great deal of volunteer fire/rescue involvement and business management experience.  She is an active member of the United Communities Volunteer Fire Department, in Queen Anne’s County, serving as EMS Lieutenant.  Kate started her volunteer fire service in New York.

Kate will be working out of the new MSFA office space which is located at 2130 Priest Bridge Drive, Suite 4, in Crofton, Maryland, 21114 which is in Anne Arundel County. The office phone number is 443-302-2911 and her cell phone number is 516-666-2351.  Her email address is ed@msfa.org.  Feel free to reach out to Kate should you have any questions or issues that you need the MSFA to address.  Kate will be keeping regular office hours and the phone will be answered during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.

Our organizational needs continue to grow, and we have to ensure we are meeting those needs and operating the Association in the most effective and efficient manner.  Our Strategic Plan identified this as a critical issue and I am in full support of our action steps to better the delivery of services and programs by the MSFA.

Sincerely,

Richard Blair, President
