MSFA, in Partnership with MFCA, Announce Receipt of 2021 SAFER Award

2021 SAFER Grant Announcement
The Maryland State Firemen’s Association (MSFA), in partnership with the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association (MFCA), is excited to announce that our application for a 2021 SAFER grant was approved. This four-year, $2.36 million dollar grant will be a joint effort between the State Association and Maryland Fire Chiefs to bring several, much-needed recruitment and retention projects and initiatives to the fire service of Maryland.
Projects for the MSFA include the hiring of a full-time recruiter for the State along with three additional regional coordinators that will work directly with the Executive Director and staff as well as the MSFA recruitment and retention committee to create a state-wide mentorship program, hold several recruitment and retention workshops, develop a new online customizable marketing platform for departments, update all of our websites, videos, and social media pages, and much more!
The Maryland Fire Chiefs will once again offer state-of-the-art, relevant leadership training across the State, and together we will work with all of our vendors to ensure that we receive quality products and programs for all of our member departments to use for years to come!
We will be announcing the MSFA and MFCA Grant Administrator, full-time Recruitment and Retention Coordinator, and part-time Regional Coordinator contractor positions shortly and look forward to utilizing this grant to help our remember departments increase recruitment and retention across the state of Maryland!
