The NVFC has several announcements:
The application period is now open for the CHEMTREC HELP (Hazmat Emergencies Local Preparedness) Award. Two volunteer fire departments will each receive $10,000 to enhance their response capabilities and increase local readiness for hazardous materials incidents.
The application period is also open for Columbia Southern University’s (CSU) annual NVFC scholarships. Two NVFC members will receive a scholarship covering up to 60 credit hours towards one of CSU’s online degree programs.
The nomination period is open for the inaugural Small Town America Civic Volunteer Award. This award will honor 100 local government volunteers, including emergency responders, in localities under 5,000. The local governments represented by all the honorees will receive a free CivicCMS web site, and the top three honorees will receive a cash prize for their locality.
