The untimely passing of member Brian Bregman
It is with deep sadness that the Officers and Members of the Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Inc. announce the untimely passing of member Brian Bregman.
Bregman joined the fire service in 1998 at Company 30 in Landover Hills. Bregman was also a member at Company 48- West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Department prior to joining GVFD in 2006. During his tenure with the fire service, Bregman held numerous officer positions, including the EMS Liaison position (Car 6099) and served as legal counsel for the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association. In addition to his fire service involvement, Bregman was a Reserve Officer with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C.

FF/EMT Brian Bregman will be escorted from the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore through Greenbelt and ending at Borgwardt’s Funeral Home on Monday, 2/8/21. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will not be a traditional service and only invited departments and apparatus will be at the funeral home.
Departments and personnel wishing to pay their lat respects are asked to stage on Crescent Road in Greenbelt between Northway and Lastner Lane no later than 1:15pm.
Please access Crescent Road from Kenilworth Ave so that apparatus can stage starting at Northway and end towards Lastner, staying in that lane.
The roadway will be closed to general traffic on Crescent between Northway and Lastner from 1pm-2pm.
