LAMSFA established an Annual Grant-In-Aid at UMD in 1957 for an outstanding high school graduate enrolled in the Fire Protection Curriculum of the College of Engineering, for four years at $500 per year.
Any member of a company or department in good standing in the Maryland State Firemen’s Association who is sick or injured (NOT in the line of duty) and thereby incapacitated may be entitled to weekly benefits.
The Hall of Fame Award was established in 2001 by President Nora Ryan to recognize the distinguished service of individuals to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association.
In memory of Olivia P. “Honey” King, Damascus VFD Auxiliary Past President, the Honey Award celebrates her four decades of service to volunteer emergency services and other community, county, and state organizations.
The Jane Todd Award will be awarded to the “Firewoman of the Year” at the Annual Convention of the LAMSFA. This award recognizes outstanding involvement in fire prevention within the awardees community and company.
The Silver Spring Trophy is awarded each year at the Annual Convention of the LAMSFA, to the Auxiliary member(s) who do(es) the most in fire prevention for their community.

Each June, at the MSFA Annual Convention & Conference , both the Association and the Ladies Auxiliary hold a memorial service for deceased department members. The deadline for submissions is March 1 for each upcoming Convention. Entries received after March 1 will be remembered at the following year’s Convention.
